Regional Extension Centers Support Physician use of Health Information Exchanges

Physicians need to get involved in local and state efforts as local and regional health information exchanges are being formed. It is an important part of the meaningful use requirements to show how you use health information technology with regard to interoperability and the exchange of health care information.

They can also work with regional extension centers to gain a better understanding of meaningful use, certified EHR/EMR systems and monetary incentives. Physicians need to be moving ahead aggressively with their health information technology plans and implementations.
