clinisync health information exchangeCliniSync is Ohio’s statewide Health Information Exchange (HIE).  CliniSync is intended to support the statewide exchange of health related information, allowing medical professionals in different regions to share lab results, patient histories, medication lists and other information about a patient’s care. The Ohio Health Information Partnership’s began connecting hospital systems in the summer of 2011. Thier primary vendor is Medicity.

Their vision is to improve electronic communication among those who touch a patient’s care so they can improve health care for all Ohioans.

The Ohio Health Information Partnership is the nonprofit entity whose mission is to assist physicians and other providers with the adoption and implement of health information technology (HIT) throughout Ohio, specifically in the adoption and use of electronic health records. Funded through the Office of the National Coordinator of HIT within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, OHIP is responsible for the creation of a technological infrastructure that will allow Ohio physicians, hospitals and healthcare professionals to electronically share patient health records across the state.
