The HIE facilitates sharing of detailed clinical data among the primary hospitals, physician practices, laboratory and radiology groups in Camden, along with regional hospitals and healthcare institutions. As a result, healthcare providers will have the clinical information they need about their patients at the immediate point of care, which will reduce unnecessary duplication and foster improved care coordination.

Well it’s nice to hear a success story about a college grad getting a job. What’s remarkable about this story is that most hospitals refuse to hire healthcare I.T. folks unless they have years of healthcare experience and/or specific vendor experience. Most of the students that graduate from these programs do not have this experience, and though they spend a lot of time getting an education, they still face a tough time getting a job.
One of the toughest issues is getting by the robots in the human resources department that only know how to screen candidates based on “keywords” in a resume. Plus, all the lousy software, like Taleo, they are using only allows recruiters to search resumes on specific keywords. Thus, hospitals are missing a lot of good candidates due to their automated systems and their myopic… “You don’t have Epic experience” or “You don’t have any healthcare experience”. Hockey Puck I say!!!!
