Hoag has launched a Health Information Exchange (HIE) Program – the Hoag HIE.
Hoag is a not-for-profit regional healthcare delivery network in Orange County, Calif. that treats nearly 30,000 inpatients and 350,000 outpatients annually. Hoag consists of two acute-care hospitals, seven health centers and a network for more than 1,300 physicians, 5,000 employees and 2,000 volunteers.

How hard is it to digitize our health records? James Williams (Discovery News) answers that question with a trip to an Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist, Dr. Morris Effron.
He is in the middle of converting 24 years of charts to his electronic medical record system.
The software he is using is from Greenway Medical Technologies, which I hear is a pretty good system.
