DETROIT, Feb. 21, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — The Southeast Michigan Beacon Community (SEMBC) announced today that it has started implementation of BeaconLink2Health, an all-new Health Information Exchange (HIE). BeaconLink2Health will deliver exchange capabilities previously unavailable in Southeast Michigan for health care providers to trusted, secure access to comprehensive patient electronic Protected Health Information (PHI) for improved patient care. This will be achieved through a community-level patient record of care.
Hawaii officials have selected Utah-based Medicity to develop the infrastructure for what will ultimately be a statewide health information exchange and electronic medical record system as Hawaii moves ahead with a key mandate of federal health-care reform.
According to a report from KLAS Research, the leading HIE vendor in the public sectort were Axolotl, InterSystems, Medicity, and Orion Health. Those reported to be winning the most HIE deals in the private sector were Cerner, dbMotion, Epic, Medicity, and RelayHealth.
